Come to Dublin in August !
It’s the Badminton Ireland Coaches Conference
If you are a Badminton fan and like Dublin, then this is a trip you need to take!
The Badminton Ireland Coaches Conference is for everybody who loves to find out more about this great game. It’s not just for Coaches. In fact, it’s full of lots of opportunities to get on court and have a hit with some friendly badminton people.
Also, it’s in Dublin! A wonderful warm city with plenty to see and enjoy.
The event is over a weekend, is packed full of things to try, listen and contemplate. It’s attended each year by around 40 badminton enthusiasts of all standards and expectations. Some are coaches, others are players, even non-playing parents come along.
The Programme
It’s packed full of different activities, on and off the court. There is always a free play session plus on court sessions to watch, interesting talks, and opportunities to chat with friendly players, including Olympians!
All the sessions last around 60 mins and there are at least 2 on court each day. There is even an opportunity to test yourself by taking the Teicnic skills award.
The 2019 Coaches conference Keynote sessions
“Singles Master Class with Nhat Nguyen and guest international player”
“Doubles Master Class with Daniel Magee and guest international player”
“Physical training for Badminton coaches and players with Andy Stewart”
“Get a Grip”, practical ideas to introduce and develop effective grips.

Test Yourself
If you’d like to test your skills then there is an opportunity to try Badminton Ireland Teicnic programme.
There are 8 levels with each testing your on-court skills and techniques. Each level gives you a tee shirt that is included within your Teicnic fee.
Often a new level is launched at the Conference, this year it could be Black, the highest 🙂
Don’t worry if you are unsure about your level, everyone starts at White. You’ll get an opportunity to see everyone else try out their next level. Just watching is educational, I promise.

Travel
Fly Ryanair and you could pay around £80 return. Ok, you will need accommodation but there are plenty of great AirBnB in and around Dublin.
I recommend that you arrive early on Friday morning. Spend the day visiting Dublin, maybe going to the Guinness or Jamison factories or just eat some great food.
Head for Temple Bar or Grafton Street and enjoy the Friday night atmosphere
I hope to see you there, come and say hello 🙂
